The Lord your God is in your midst—a warrior bringing victory. He will create calm with his love; He will rejoice over you with singing. Zephaniah 3:17 (CEB)

This is such a powerful verse. God’s love is a love that is constantly with us and surrounds us.

It’s a love that gives us continual victory. A love that causes our whole soul to be still despite our circumstances. A love that rejoices in who we are.

Let’s focus on the second line of this verse; He will create calm with His love. (CEB)

The (NKJV) says it this way; He will quiet you with His love.

As I read this verse several nights ago, it was as if this part of the verse was brightly highlighted. It stood out like never before. After reading it a few times, the Lord began to remind me of my three-year-old son. During those moments he doesn’t understand why he can’t have something or do something he wants to do and he reacts in an uproar, shouting at the top of his lungs. When he does this, I slowly go down to his level, embrace him gently, and lovingly sing over him. My little one then calms down, lets down his guard, and allows me to pick him up and hold him for a moment.

How often do we respond chaotically in life circumstances? Just like my son, not understanding why things are turning out the way they are. We tend to forget that our heavenly Father has been there before and just as He gave us victory in the past He will also be with us now and give us victory once more.

We need to learn to let our guard down with God. It's ok. HE will never let you down.

Remember we are not God. We are not in control. He is. He sees beyond what we can see.

Let Him be God. Let Him do what only He can do. Jesus is trustworthy. He will never fail us.

What are you currently going through? How are you responding?

Will you choose to trust in Jesus?

Allow His perfect love to embrace you and carry you gently.

You are not alone. He is with you.

Allow His love to calm and quiet you.

“Be still, and know that I AM God! Psalm 46:10a (NLT)
